Tunisian Anas Jaber achieved an unprecedented Arab achievement in the world rankings of women’s tennis players, after her victory today, Wednesday, over Russian Anna Kalinskaya in the eighth final of the Indian Wells Championship.
The Tunisian star beat the Russian in two sets without a response, the details of which are 6-2, 6-2.
She will face the Tunisian champion in the quarter-finals, Estonian Annette Kontaveit, ranked 20 in the world.
And “tennis.com” stated that Anas, by reaching the quarter-finals of Indian Wells, will break into the top ten list in the WTA rankings, which will be released next week.
He added, “Anas will become the first Arab tennis player to enter the list of the top ten players in the history of the WTA rankings or the WTA.”
Anas had reached the highest rating in her career earlier this month, reaching 14th place in the world rankings.
