The South Korean series “Squid Game” has the largest number of viewers among the original Netflix series, according to what the platform announced.
The South Korean series succeeded in gaining a wide audience around the world in a short period, as the series succeeded in causing a sensation due to the importance of its story and method of implementation, and the work is the first Korean drama to get first place in the United States in the list of views on Netflix.

The nine-episode series depicts hundreds of people representing South Korea’s most marginalized communities as they compete in children’s games, with deadly consequences, for a prize of 45.6 billion won ($38.66 million).
And “Netflix” said on “Twitter”, Wednesday, “The number of followers of Squid Jim has officially reached 111 million, which makes him the biggest launch of our series ever!”
The series attracted this number in just 27 days, since its broadcast on September 17, easily surpassing the historical series that takes place in the United Kingdom, “Bridgerton”, which was watched by 82 million subscribers in the first 28 days.
On the other hand, the series sparked widespread controversy, as it was subjected to harsh criticism by many experts, who saw the work as encouraging children to engage in serious challenges.
The director of the series has not yet confirmed whether there will be a second part of “The Squid Game” or not, despite the circulating of some news claiming that the second part of the series will be launched around the middle of next year.
