The American University in the Emirates (AUE) has signed an agreement of understanding with the courts of the Dubai International Financial Center, aimed at cooperation between the two parties, within the framework of promoting common strategic interests and goals, within the university’s interest in graduating batches of students from the College of Law, who have the best legal and judicial practices, with the aim of gaining expertise From a legal entity that has weight and experience in the United Arab Emirates and the world, represented by the courts of the Dubai International Financial Center.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Muthanna Ghani Abdul Razzaq, President of the University, and Judge Omar Al Muhairi, Director of the DIFC Courts, in the presence of Professor William Cornwell, Senior Vice President of the University, Dr. Amer Ghassan Fakhoury, Dean of the College of Law, and Judge Ali Al Madhani, Head of International Relations for Judicial Affairs in the Courts of the Dubai Centre. Amna Al Owais, Registrar General at the Dubai International Financial Center Courts, and Ahmed Al Kamali, Director of Government and International Relations and the Office of the Chief of Courts.
Dr. Muthanna Abdul Razzaq said that the agreement comes in the context of the interest of the American University in the Emirates, through the College of Law, to prepare a future generation of students with a high degree of competence and experience, through qualifying them and developing their capabilities, which will be reflected on their careers and the law community in general. .
The agreement provides the best legal applications for students, by integrating theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, facilitating requests for mock trials (for academic purposes), and students attending direct sessions to learn about the optimal methods of litigation paths and the nature of court work, in order to achieve the university’s goals in graduating an empowered legal generation capable of coping with legal challenges, in partnership. With the Dubai Center Courts, as one of the most important international legal centers and bodies.
The agreement stipulates that the two parties use their maximum capabilities to exchange statistics, publications, magazines, periodicals, laws and regulations governing the activities of public services for each of them, and coordinate to launch a joint or independent awareness initiative to inform users and the public of the services of both parties.
