DUBAI, 10th October / WAM/ His Excellency Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, opened today the sixth edition of the annual exhibition and forum for radiology in the UAE, which lasts for three days at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Al Ketbi toured the exhibition accompanying the conference – which witnesses the participation of more than 40 international companies – in the presence of a number of officials and stakeholders in the field of radiology in the country, during which they were briefed on the most prominent modern technologies and advanced devices in this field.
Professor Pia Sandgren, Head of the Department of Radiology and Clinical Sciences at Lund University, Sweden, said: “Cooperation between radiologists, clinicians and radiographers is essential to advance research and clinical practice in the Department of Radiology. Collaboration between specialists and clinicians is required to improve the quality of health services provided and to benefit from each other’s expertise in The field.. Our ultimate goal is to help our patients and provide them with the best health care, regardless of the type of disease.
She expected that future developments in technology, imaging methods, post-processing algorithms, artificial intelligence and machine learning will continue to improve and develop this field.
For his part, Dr. Wael Shabana, Assistant Professor of Radiology, Head of the Abdominal Imaging Department at Ottawa Hospital in Canada, said: In the Arab Renaissance, medicine was called “the art of making medicine” and medicine is still considered an art to this day, as diagnostic imaging is the visual art in medicine. 80% of the solution lies in the diagnosis.
He added: When you put the pieces together, the puzzle is solved to find out the underlying health problem, and that would not be possible without a team of doctors, technicians and radiologists, all of whom are important pieces that make up the final picture.
Dr. Shabana stressed that the annual exhibition and forum for radiology in the UAE is a platform that brings radiologists together to exchange knowledge, experiences and information, as the event provides a wonderful educational opportunity for all, expressing his happiness that this event will be held in Dubai, the vibrant jewel of the Middle East, two years after the epidemic.
The scientific agenda of the Annual Forum of Radiology in the Emirates this year includes a number of topics that will be discussed by 48 speakers and experts through 70 scientific sessions, including artificial intelligence, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, computerized tomography, musculoskeletal radiography, radiation protection, “Covid-19” and others.
The activities of the annual Radiology Forum in the UAE will also include displaying 9 scientific posters discussing the latest research. The virtual component of the event will allow participants to view the most prominent research and the latest developments in the field wherever they are in the world.
Due to the huge expansion in the field of radiology and the increasing demand for modern technologies, the annual Radiology Forum in the UAE comes to present the “Radiology Business Hub” buyers program, which provides key decision makers and potential buyers with an opportunity to arrange face-to-face business meetings with the major exhibitors participating in the exhibition in addition to exploring future opportunities for cooperation commercial in the area.
