Turkish state media reported today, Thursday, that the authorities had arrested a Russian citizen wanted by the International Police “Interpol” on charges of involvement in terrorist activities.
Anadolu Agency confirmed that the anti-terrorism teams of the Ankara Security Directorate had monitored the illegal arrival of this man accused of involvement in ISIS activities in Syria, and identified his residence in Ankara.
The agency stated that the arrest was carried out this morning, and the security forces, during a search of the detainee’s residence, confiscated $4,800, eight thousand rubles and 16.8 thousand Turkish liras, in addition to digital materials and fake Syrian identity cards.
The agency indicated that the arrested person is listed on the “red notice” of the “Interpol”.
