Manchester United defender Luke Shaw praised Cristiano Ronaldo’s professionalism after the Portuguese striker’s return to Old Trafford, and said he had developed the mentality of the players at the Premier League club.
Ronaldo returned to United this season, and has already scored five goals in six matches in all competitions, despite his absence from the team’s start in the Premier League and Champions League.
“You know how star he is, what he’s been doing over a number of years,” Shaw told the BBC. “It’s unbelievable to share the atmosphere with him in the players’ room.”
“You see the way he behaves and how professional he is. It’s clear to me why he’s been at the top for so many years. His mentality is amazing, I think he really managed to improve the atmosphere in the players’ room.”
United tied 1-1 with Everton in the last round of the league and has 14 points from the first seven rounds.
United will play in the next round of the league with Leicester City on October 16, following the current international break.
