Dragan Skostik, the coach of the Iranian national team, insisted that our UAE team will not be affected by his absence in the third round of the third stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Al-Abyad misses Ali Salmin, his star player, and Walid Abbas, his veteran defender, before hosting the Iranians at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai.

Skosic said, “In matches like this, all teams are at the highest level of readiness. The absence of one or two players does not affect much in light of the availability of substitutes.”

And the 53-year-old continued, “We realize that Al-Abyad will never be affected by his absence, because the rest of the UAE national team players have enough skill and experience to replace any key elements.”

The Croatian coach praised Al-Abyad, stressing, “They are a good team. They have a lot of talent and organization under the leadership of a good coach. It is a team that has outstanding elements in all lines.”

“We will try to play with a fighting spirit to win, especially since we are aware of the value of the UAE national team, and we have full respect for it,” Skeusic added.
