The UAE has announced the launch of its strategic initiative, which aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, said on Twitter: “The UAE today announced its goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Our development model will take into account this goal and all institutions will work as one team to achieve it.” The UAE will invest more than 600 billion dirhams in clean and renewable energy until 2050 and will play its global role in combating climate change.
In addition, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said: “Today we launched the UAE Strategic Initiative to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. We are keen to support the efforts of the international community to achieve sustainable development and promote economic and social growth. in the state, and to contribute to the good of mankind.”
