Daniel Foxov, a 24-year-old lone soldier who immigrated to Israel from Russia about a year ago, was killed on Tuesday (Tuesday) in a car accident in Tirat Carmel. Foxov enlisted in the logistics corps, and a month ago began a new role as a dog handler in the unit. He was orphaned by his mother at a young age, and his body will soon be flown to Russia, to be buried next to his mother.
“Daniel came to us six months before the enlistment and we have accompanied him ever since. He came really alone,” said Noam Avital, CEO of the “Right Spirit” organization for lone soldiers. “His mother died and his father remained in Russia. He studied at Ariel University and enlisted in the Logistics Corps. “Just a month ago, we were happy together that he got a job as a dog.”
Daniel lives in the association’s apartment in Hadera with a few other lone soldiers. “He was a happy and smiling person, very connected to music. They gave him a laptop and that was the only thing he did,” Avital said. “He was so happy to come to Israel. A week ago I met him and he thanked me very much for everything. He told me that he ‘got an opportunity for a new life in Israel.’
Daniel was hit by a vehicle in Tirat Carmel when he ran towards a bus at an intersection. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where the doctors were forced to determine his death. It is such a painful and unnecessary death, “said Avital.” We now have a message for all the soldiers who are rushing home – do not rush so much. Be careful and walk leisurely. That’s how you earn your living. “
