President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, told Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian, during his meeting with him this Thursday at the Baabda Palace, that “Lebanon’s support for the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran to enhance rapprochement between it and the countries of the region, especially relations with Arab countries, through dialogue.” established for this purpose,” he said, adding that “such a dialogue can bring points of view on the disputed issues.”
President Aoun praised Iran’s “solidarity with Lebanon in facing its crises, and the assistance it provided after the explosion of the Beirut port,” conveying Minister Abdollahian his greetings to Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and the friendly Iranian people, wishing them continued progress.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Abdullahian conveyed to President Aoun the greetings of the Iranian president, reiterating his country’s “steadfast support for Lebanon, and the Iranian government’s readiness to provide all support in the areas that Lebanon needs, especially in the difficult economic conditions it is going through.”
The Iranian minister gave President Aoun a presentation of his country’s position on regional and international developments, the atmosphere of negotiations that Tehran is conducting with a number of Arab and foreign countries, and the current proposals for their improvement and development, as well as those related to the nuclear file.
