On Wednesday, British police arrested a footballer for Brighton and Hove Albion, active in the English Premier League, on suspicion of sexual assault.
Sky Sports reported that the player, whose name has not been revealed for legal reasons, was arrested at a nightclub in Brighton in the early hours of Wednesday.
However, the British newspaper “The Sun” revealed the identity of the player, 25-year-old Yves Bisoma.
“Two men have been arrested after a woman reported sexual assault at a venue in Brighton in the early hours of Wednesday,” Sussex Police said in a statement.
“A man in his 40s and a man in his 20s, both from Brighton, have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remain in police custody at this time,” the statement continued.
For his part, English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion said one of its players was helping police in an investigation into an alleged crime.
He added, “The matter is subject to legal procedures and therefore the club is unable to make further comments at this time.”
