And the official Syrian news agency “SANA” reported that the Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, during these talks, which took place on the sidelines of the “Expo-2020” exhibition, discussed with the UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah Tawk “the most important economic issues of common interest.” , including the agreement to re-form and activate the Syrian-Emirati Businessmen Council with the aim of encouraging trade exchange, investment and cooperation on the economic level between the two countries.

“SANA” stated that during this meeting, Al-Khalil stressed the importance of the Syrian-Emirati relations, and presented the investment law and other latest laws in his country, which create “a suitable and attractive investment environment in the recovery and reconstruction phase and encourage investors to establish projects in all fields by providing facilities And great benefits.

During the meeting, according to SANA, it was stressed the importance of diversifying the economy, which protects countries from the risks of focusing on a few sectors or sectors, threatening their economic stability, noting the importance of medium and small projects that constitute the largest percentage of projects operating in the two countries and are the “main supporter.” economy and its main engine”, in addition to discussing the importance of reviving bilateral cooperation in all economic sectors.

The agency quoted the Emirati minister as expressing during the meeting his country’s readiness to “provide support to Syria by transferring the UAE’s successful experience in the economy sector.”
