Today, Sunday, the Sultanate of Oman Airports Administration announced the postponement of all flights to and from Muscat International Airport until the evening or until further notice due to weather conditions.
Oman Airports said in a tweet on its official account on Twitter: “We would like to warn that all flights to and from Muscat International Airport have been postponed and rescheduled to a later date this evening or until further notice, in order to avoid any risks that may result from the direct impact of climatic conditions on the traffic of Oman. Operations at the airport.
The Sultanate is currently subject to the impact of Tropical Storm “Shaheen” and issued warnings to citizens yesterday and today in this regard.
And the Oman News Agency reported today, Sunday, that the center of tropical cyclone (Shaheen) is currently about 60 km northeast of the Governorate of Muscat, and the wind speed around the center is estimated at 64 knots, or 116 km per hour.
The agency quoted the National Center for Emergency Management as saying that Sultan Qaboos Street (Sahwa Tower – Qurum Bridge) was closed until further notice, calling for the use of alternative roads leading to the Muscat Expressway until the road is restored to normal.
