Dr. Mustafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that a half-acre area was chosen from the nine-and-a-half-acre Jabalaya Fish Park and turned into a parking area for visitors to the park.
Waziri’s statements came during a phone call to him on the Hekaya program with Amr Adib, broadcast on MBC Egypt.
Waziri stated that the plan for the aquarium is a comprehensive development process for all of its elements, to restore its full splendor, and to restore the Jabaliya again to its primary function of displaying rare fish as it was.
Waziri indicated that the permanent committee agreed to exploit half an acre of the park’s space to be used as a parking area, because one of the investors will undertake a complete development of the park, and the work of cafeterias and restaurants, which will make the visit to it increase.
He pointed out that a place must be provided to wait for visitors’ cars, tour buses, and other various means of transportation, which will be necessary for the park after development.
