DUBAI, 3rd October/WAM/ Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, affirmed the depth and excellence of Emirati-Brazilian relations at all levels, especially the economic ones.
In this regard, she noted many vital sectors such as food. She said that trade in food and agricultural products plays a vital role in the process of trade exchange between the two countries, which enhances our contribution to achieving the goals of the national strategy for food security by diversifying sources of food import.
This came at the launch of the Economic Sustainability Forum in the Amazon region between Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, which was held today in Dubai in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Brazilian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Hamilton Mourao, Vice President of Brazil and His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, Her Excellency Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Her Excellency Fernando Igrega, Ambassador of Brazil to the UAE, and Her Excellency Osmar Shahfa, President of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Her Excellency added: “The UAE can also contribute to promoting the Brazilian trade movement, by utilizing its advanced logistical solutions and infrastructure. The UAE is also an attractive business destination through its advanced solutions and policies for setting up companies and businesses, especially in the food and beverage sector. Her Excellency pointed out that there are many opportunities that have not yet been explored in order to deepen trade and economic relations between the UAE and Brazil, stressing that food and the exchange of experiences in the areas of climate change and the environment will have a large share of those opportunities in the future.
In response to a question by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, His Excellency Hamilton Mourao, Vice President of the Republic of Brazil, said: There is a strong relationship between food security, digital technology and innovation.. He added that the other and important dimension between us is the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of the principle of sustainability, stressing that his country is keen to implement its commitments with regard to strategic partnerships and agreements related to food security.
