The “Taliban” summoned Afghan translators who worked for the Netherlands to appear in court, and threatened to reprisal from their relatives if they failed to do so, the official Dutch channel NOS reported on Friday.

A message to the “Taliban”, which was shown by the channel, said that the translators resorted to hiding, but their family members will bear the responsibility if they do not appear in court, “in order to inflict severe punishment on them so that the other traitors learn a lesson.”

The channel added that the person who received the message was working for the European Police Agency “Europol” in Afghanistan, and he is accused of receiving “forbidden and shameful money” from foreigners.

Another message received by a translator who was accused by the “Taliban” of being responsible for the killing of some of its members stated: “We will take revenge, and if we are not able to catch you, we will settle the account with your relatives.”

NOS said that all indications show that the letters bearing official stamps were sent by the Taliban.

She said she had contacted about 10 translators or people who had worked with the Dutch, all of whom expressed that their situation was becoming increasingly difficult.

The Taliban in June urged translators who worked with foreign forces to repent, but told them to remain in Afghanistan after foreign forces withdrew, saying they would not be harmed.

Immediately after taking power, the movement announced a general amnesty for Afghan government and military officials.

But despite her vow not to retaliate; A confidential United Nations report indicated that the Taliban pursued people who worked with foreign forces.
