A source from the Egyptian national team revealed the reasons for excluding Mohamed Sherif and Mohamed Magdy “Afsha” from the final list against Libya.
An official source from the Egyptian national team said in statements toFilGoal.com: “Excluding Afsha and Muhammad Sharif is a decision of Carlos Queiroz, and not for medical or disciplinary reasons.”
He added, “The team did not undergo physical measurements due to the pressure of time available in the camp, but we trained for 4 days and played only the Liberia friendly.”
The Egyptian national team had announced its final list for the next two matches in Libya, and witnessed many surprises, on top of which was the exclusion of Mohamed Sharif, and Mohamed Magdy, “Afsha” of the Al-Ahly player.
The list also witnessed the addition of Ahmed Fathi, player of Pyramids, and Yasser Ibrahim, player of Al-Ahly, although they were not in the first list of the team.
Egypt played a friendly match against Liberia on Thursday, which the Pharaohs won with two goals to none, scored by Mohamed Sherif.
Egypt is preparing to face Libya on October 8 and 11, in the third and fourth rounds of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
