Gas prices in Europe recorded at the beginning of trading, today, Friday, historical levels, as prices touched the level of 1200 dollars per thousand cubic meters of gas.
According to the trading, the gas futures contracts for the month of November for delivery to the center of the Netherlands amounted to 1199.44 dollars per thousand cubic meters of gas.
Gas prices in Europe record almost daily historical levels, and about the reasons for this rise, experts point to an increase in demand coinciding with the decline in gas stocks in ground storage in Europe.
As for the jump in blue fuel prices today, experts say that the decrease in gas pumping through the “Yamal-Europe” pipeline (a pipeline to pump natural gas from Russia to Europe) is most likely behind the rise in gas prices.
The gas pipeline “Yamal-Europe” passes through the territories of 4 countries: Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. The design capacity of the pipeline is 32.9 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
