Schools opened in England about a month ago, and some epidemiologists are highlighting fears of an increase in infections among children, but this has not yet translated into a sustainable increase in cases among the wider population.

It is estimated that the prevalence rate was 4.58 percent among secondary school students, which means that one in 25 students tested positive, compared to 2.81 percent of students in the same age group in the previous week.

The overall outbreak rate in England was one in 85, just over the previous week, at one in 90, but still lower than it was two weeks ago when it was estimated at about one in 80.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed a plan to tackle the Corona virus in the winter, which includes giving children over 12 years of age a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

But it was not until last week that vaccination of 12 to 15-year-olds began, leaving England and some parts of the United Kingdom behind the United States and some other European countries.
