The Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, coach of the Egyptian national football team, decided to hold a press conference tomorrow evening, Saturday, to talk about his choices in the final list for the two matches against Libya in the World Cup qualifiers.

As well as to respond to the decision to exclude the duo Muhammad Magdy Afsha and Muhammad Sharif, and to resolve the captaincy crisis after Ahmed Fathi joined the national team.

The technical staff of the Egyptian national football team, led by the Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, announced the final list of the names of the players joining the team’s camp, which starts tomorrow, in preparation for the meeting with the Libyan team in the World Cup qualifiers.

The list of Egypt’s national team included 24 players:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Mohamed Abu Jabal, Mohamed Bassam and Mohamed Sobhi.

Defense lines: Akram Tawfiq, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy, Baher Al-Mohammadi, Mahmoud Hamdi “Al Wensh”, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Abu Al-Fotouh and Ayman Ashraf.

Midfield: Mohamed Elneny, Amr Al-Sulayya, Tariq Hamed and Hamdi Fathi.

Attacking midfield: Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”, Mohamed Salah, Abdullah Al-Saeed, Ibrahim Adel, Ramadan Sobhi and Omar Marmoush.

Today, Friday, the Portuguese “Queiroz” and his assistant staff held a meeting at the residence hotel to resolve the final list of players and determine those excluded from the list, before the camp resumes tomorrow, Saturday.

Yesterday, Thursday, the Egyptian team defeated Liberia 2-0 in an international friendly match, as part of the two teams’ preparations to resume the African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

The Egyptian team succeeded in achieving its first victory under the leadership of its new coach, Carlos Queiroz, who was appointed to succeed Hossam El-Badri, who was recently sacked.

Mohamed Sherif scored the first goal for the Egyptian team in the 58th minute, before adding the second goal in the 67th minute.

The Egyptian team is preparing to face its Libyan counterpart in the third and fourth rounds of the sixth group of African qualifiers for the World Cup, where they will play on the eighth of next October in Egypt, while the second match will be held in Libya on the 11th of the same month.

Egypt ranks second in the group with four points, two points behind Libya, the group leader, while Gabon is third with one point, and Angola is at the bottom of the standings without a balance of points.
