Baruch Dayan HaAmet: At the Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, Rabbi Yehoshua Zvi HaCohen Katz, one of the rabbis of the Mishkan Yaakov Yeshiva in Haifa, died today (Friday) at the age of 85, after falling ill in Korona.

The late was born in Haifa on Elul in the year 1906 to his father, the late Rabbi Shimaya Katz.

In his election, he studied at the Kfar Saba Yeshiva with the late Maran HaGrail Steinman, and then studied at the Ponivez Yeshiva.

When he came to his senses, he married his wife, Esther, in the Karshinsky family, an educator at the Oliphant school in Tel Aviv.

He was a rabbi at the yeshiva of his brother the Gaon Rabbi David Katz, head of the Mishkan Yaakov yeshiva in Haifa.

Along with Torah lessons and yeshiva teaching, he adhered to moral rules. On weekdays, the priest was in the “Natz” quorum of Gerach Kanievsky at the Lederman Synagogue in Bnei Brak.

Left behind a blessed righteous generation: sons and daughters, sons-in-law and descendants.

The funeral procession left today at 4.30 pm from the Gate of the Ponivez House in Bnei Brak, where Whitman is buried.
