After the victory over Liberia.. Queiroz: Our focus is towards winning over Libya
The Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, coach of the first national football team, confirmed that his focus is towards winning over Libya during the World Cup qualifiers, noting that facing Liberia is nothing but a rehearsal for the experience of the style and method of playing and the extent to which the players absorb it to implement it within the green rectangle.
Queiroz said during a press conference after the Liberba meeting, that he is not here to create a football revolution in the national team, expressing his happiness with the players trying to implement his idea as soon as possible and that his goal is always to win matches.
The first national football team won an easy victory over Liberia with two goals without a response in the friendly match that was held between them at the Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria, as part of the Pharaohs’ preparations for the World Cup qualifiers.
The two goals of the national team, Mohamed Sherif, were scored in the 57th and 66th minutes of the match.
The events of the first half between the national team and its Liberian counterpart ended in a goalless draw.
The team played the first half with a formation composed of Muhammad Al-Shennawi in the goalkeeper, Muhammad Hamdi, Ayman Ashraf, Al-Wansh and Akram Tawfiq in the defense line, Al-Sulayya and Tariq Hamed pivotal, Zizou, Al-Saeed and Mustafa Fathi under the sole spearhead, Muhammad Sharif.
And participated in the second half, goalkeeper Muhammad Abu Jabal, Ali Jabr, Muhannad Lashin, Baher Al-Mohammadi, Ramadan Sobhi, Ahmed Samir, Afsha, Ahmed Tawfiq, Hamdi Fathi and Ibrahim Adel.
The team imposed control over most of the first half through good spread inside the green rectangle, but it played on the slow players in preparing the attacks, in addition to the failure to hit the offside trap, which was one of the opponent’s features.
Before the team succeeded in changing the performance after the quick passes in the second half that shook the nets of Liberia.
The meeting was moderated by the Tunisian Youssef Al-Sarari, referee, and assisted by Yamen Al-Malloulchi, first assistant referee, Fawzi Al-Jaradidi, second assistant referee, and Yousry Bouali, fourth referee.
The national team is preparing to meet Libya, back and forth, on October 8 and 11, in the third and fourth round matches of Group F of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Libya is at the top of Group F of the World Cup qualifiers with 6 points, while the Egyptian team has 4 points in second place, and Gabon is in third place with one point, and Togo is at the bottom of the group without a balance of points.
