A Corona patient needed a connection to an Acmo machine at Ziv Hospital in Safed, but there was no machine available. An integrated Haifa team went out in the middle of the night to save him. The echo machine replaces the activity of the heart and lungs. The machine allows the lungs to rest and heal and saves lives in situations that would previously come with death.
From the Rambam and Carmel hospitals in Haifa, Haifa was informed:
Nocturnal collaboration between the corona wards at Rambam and Carmel hospitals, which was born due to the distress of the Acme teams.
In the evening yesterday, a call was received from Ziv Hospital in Safed for a young and unvaccinated 40-year-old sick Lakmo due to a system crash. The Carmel team prepared for the trip, but due to a shortage of manpower for the operators of the Heart and Lung Machine and Acmo, a request was made by Dr. Yigal Kasif, head of the Israeli Acmo Association to Rambam’s Chief Acme Technician, Rami Heisler, to join the trip.
The joint team set off, the patient was successfully connected in cooperation between the teams of Carmel and Rambam and at the end of the connection, the patient was transferred with a dedicated and protected ambulance to Corona Intensive Care at Carmel Hospital in Haifa.
