On Wednesday this week, on the eve of Simchat Torah, a robbery took place at a post office on Reuven and Batsheva streets in the city of Rishon Lezion.

According to a report received by the police, a suspect entered the branch and at gunpoint robbed the cashier of thousands of NIS and fled the scene.

Police forces began searching for the suspect and at the same time an investigation was opened in which a variety of investigative actions were carried out in order to reach the identity of the suspect in the robbery.

Yesterday, detectives from the Rishon LeZion station managed to locate and arrest the suspect in the robbery, this is Zvi Portal, a resident of Ashkelon who previously starred in the reality show “Big Brother.”

Portal, 44, starred in the 2012 season of the reality show and was one of the standout participants. He is also remembered as the one who was the partner of Avivit Bar Zohar.

Portal was brought to the Magistrate’s Court in Petah Tikva today and according to the police arrest request, he is suspected of robberies in the central area. Judge Eliana Danieli extended Portal’s detention until 5.10.21.

Advocate Benjamin Ben Natan, who represents the portal on behalf of the Public Defender’s Office: “The suspect denies the suspicions. We will wait for the police to complete the investigation. “
