The Directorate of Education in Qena Governorate, Egypt, issued a decision to punish a teacher at Al-Shaheed Khairat Secondary School in Nagaa Hammadi by suspending him from work for two months.
The punishment came because the teacher and a group of students in one of the classes of the Martyr Khairat Al-Qadi School watched dance clips of the Brazilian dancer “Lordiana” on the interactive board during the month of November 2020.
The video clip of the math teacher and two students was published on the social networking site “Facebook”, in which they appear watching a video on the smart board of the Brazilian dancer, Lordiana, dancing, which angered Facebook users and parents in Nag Hammadi and Upper Egypt governorates.
The 59-year-old teacher, who appeared in the video, says that he entered the class in a reserve class, and watched two students listening to a video on the smart board, which he is unable to use, due to his old age, and demanded that they turn off this video, because it is offensive, but they refused. And he insisted on his request, but to no avail, and he was surprised after that, circulating this video on social media, pointing out that it was likely that it was a grudge plotted by some students against him.
