Samsung decided to bring the technology of digital keys for cars to users of Galaxy phones by the end of this year, after announcing its cooperation with car manufacturers at the conference to unveil the Galaxy S21 series at the beginning of the year to work on several technologies.
Samsung’s smart digital key technology will be available with the Genesis GV60 electric car for users starting from South Korea at the end of the current year 2021. It will work through NFC technology, and UWB technology that it developed during the last period and works similar to Bluetooth technology for distance and data transmission, but with protection and greater encryption.
This technology helps car owners to easily unlock their cars through smart phones in a way similar to the process of purchasing products through contactless points of sale, and helps to share the car key safely with family members and friends, allowing them to grant permission to use the car in an emergency, for example, or when needed. , and then cancel it.
Samsung Digital Key will use what you refer to as an embedded security element that it has designed to protect the information and encrypt the key data to prevent any possibility of key theft.
Samsung wants to rely on UWB communication technology more in this regard because of its ability to encrypt data and prevent any interception of the connection, which is available with the latest flagship phones. But it will allow users who do not have these phones to use the digital key via the NFC technology that is available on most of its smartphones.
