In the words of the head of the ICT and Defense Division at the Sabar, Major General Lior Carmeli: The empowerment of the operational Internet platform, the design of combat spaces based on digital and connectivity infrastructures, the empowerment of the worlds of knowledge and information, along with artificial intelligence – all these are the most prominent foundations for realizing the vision behind the establishment of the principal. This plan does not stand on its own. It is based on a multi-armed vision, it combines operational and technological factors, and it is the one that leads the IDF to be an innovative, digital and information-based organization. In this way, the director will fulfill her most important mission: to fulfill her role in strengthening the IDF’s lethality and effectiveness. Ziv, you managed to move mountains, score walls, unite yards. There are those who do so by virtue of authority and rank, but this does not work everywhere and especially in the IDF’s multi-armed spaces. Where the power to motivate, the power to break boundaries comes from unique leadership and bringing significant added value. “Aviad, you bring with you a unique combination for the job – diverse operational experience, including a significant period in the Northern Command and in command of the unit for cooperation, but no less important is the character of an entrepreneur, love of technology, bursting energies and proven execution capabilities.”

In the words of the outgoing Director of Digital Transformation, Brigadier General Ziv Avtalion: “For the past two years, I have been a part of a successful cause associated with the work of champions. This miracle? It’s all a matter of trust, cooperation, encouragement, entrepreneurship, innovation and courage. All of this I was privileged to receive from both my commanders, commanders and colleagues. Thank you for a professional, deep and orderly process of changing our shifts – I see you as the one who will continue to bear the miracle of digital change successfully, for the realization of the IDF’s concept of victory. “They are not the limit. I have had the great privilege and great pleasure of being your commander for the past two years.”

In the words of the head of the incoming digital transformation director, Brigadier General Aviad Dagan: “The principal’s people – the essence of our job is operational. The weapon we hold and we are responsible for is defensive, deadly and humane, touching any area you want. We have a huge responsibility to be relevant and bring immediate results in the IDF’s missions and at the same time, with a clear compass, to engineer, arrange, imagine, accelerate and invent the IDF’s digital transformation. I am convinced that the new year brings with it tremendous opportunities, and endless energy. Ziv, you are planting solid foundations and we will build towers on them. Dedicating thought to passing on the stick and learning – and I feel ready, appreciated and very successful in the future. “
