The Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, the coach of the Egyptian national team, decided to exclude nine players from the squad list in preparation for facing Libya in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The technical staff of the national team announced a list of 33 comprehensive names that included 24 local players who participated in the Liberia friendly match, in addition to nine professional players who are expected to join the camp.
Yalla Koura learned that Queiroz is meeting with the national team’s technical staff at the present time in order to reduce the team’s list from 33 names to only 24 players, including four goalkeepers.
Queiroz is heading to exclude six local players and three professionals to rely on a final list of 24 players, including six professionals, in the two matches against Libya.
The Egyptian team had defeated Liberia in a friendly 2-0, in preparation for the resumption of the team’s journey in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar, during which the Pharaohs occupies second place with 4 points behind Libya.
It is noteworthy that the national team will face its Libyan counterpart on Friday at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria in the third round of qualifiers, before going to the fourth round in Benghazi on October 11.
