Bidya Devi Bandari, President of the Republic of Nepal, met with Ambassador Noha El Gebali to present her credentials as Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nepal, in the presence of senior Nepalese officials, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chief of Staff.
Following the completion of the accreditation ceremony, the President of Nepal held a meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador, where the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stressing Egypt’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels, and to explore new horizons and opportunities to advance them and expand cooperation frameworks during the coming period. And to continue mutual coordination between the two countries in international forums and on issues of common interest.
The ambassador praised the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Nepal, expressing her pride that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with Nepal 65 years ago, noting the importance of holding the second round of the mechanism of political consultations between the two countries as soon as possible.
The ambassador also reviewed Egypt’s successful efforts in addressing the Corona pandemic by expanding the production and provision of anti-virus vaccines to all citizens, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, stressing Egypt’s welcome to bilateral cooperation in this regard.
The Nepalese president affirmed her full support for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries during the coming period, as well as continuing future coordination in international forums, valuing in this context the consensus of visions and positions between the two countries, especially in the context of their membership in the Non-Aligned Movement.
