Cairo – Mubasher: During his official visit to France, Ali El Moselhy, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, held a meeting with Alain GRISET, Minister of Economy and Finance in France, in the presence of officials from the French Development Agency and those concerned with cooperation with Egypt.
Al-Moselhi said, today, Friday, that this visit represents the culmination of serious work carried out in cooperation with the French Development Agency, praising the professionalism of the study carried out by the French side on Egypt’s needs in wholesale markets, which is a reference study, according to a press release.
He continued: “This led to the approval of the financing provided by the French Development Agency of about 100 million euros to establish and manage the wholesale market in the Burj Al Arab area to serve as a pioneering and distinguished project to develop markets at the level of the Republic, to be followed by the establishment of 14 similar wholesale markets in different governorates. which contributes to achieving food security.
Al-Moselhi added that it is of great importance at this stage to expedite the economic feasibility study of the project so that the joint Egyptian-French company, which will take over its management, can be formed by the beginning of next year.
He pointed out that there has been progress made by the French Development Agency in selecting the advisory office that will conduct the study, and that the process of selecting the expert is in its final stage, and that it is expected to be done within a month, stressing the agency’s commitment to complete all procedures so that the actual operation of the project can begin within a month. 18-24 months.
