Engineer Yahya Zaki, head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, said that the Egyptian government is adopting the auto industry localization file with regard to the auto industry strategy, and all state agencies are working on it, and accordingly a set of incentives have been allocated during the last period.
Zaki added, during a telephone interview with the “Good Morning Egypt” program, broadcast on Channel One and the Egyptian satellite channel, that the economic zone has allocated additional incentives for exporting to regional markets and enjoying commercial agreements available to workers and investors in the region, as well as allowing them to cooperate with the local market with clear rules. Regarding dealing through implementing regulations and importing and exporting to the local market.
He added that the project to return the export burdens in which the automobile industry will be one of the most important industries, and its executive regulations will be issued soon, and on the basis of which the percentages will be determined as the local component increases, pointing out that the set of studies and main incentives associated with the settlement of this industry in Egypt in general and the economic zone in particular, began to take operational procedures.
And he added: “A few days ago, we met the African Association of Automobile Manufacturers, which is an association that includes a large group of Asian and European car manufacturers to serve the African market, which is growing significantly and is expected to have huge needs during the coming period, and therefore this industry must be localized in Africa. In general, Egypt will be one of the main places to supply the African market with these needs
