Dr. Maryam Al Matrooshi, a radiologist in the Forensic Medicine Department of Dubai Police, is the first woman to specialize in forensic radiology in the Middle East. She holds the European Board of Diagnostic Radiology from Austria, and is currently working on a project to establish the first “criminal radiology” laboratory in Dubai Police , to be the first of its kind in the Middle East in the field of virtual criminal autopsy as an alternative to manual autopsy.
In this regard, Major General Dr. Ahmed Eid Al-Mansoori, Director of the General Department of Criminal Evidence and Criminology at Dubai Police, said that the project to establish the first forensic radiology laboratory in the Middle East is one of the important projects that His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, directed to implement during The next stage, and that the forensic evidence in the Dubai Police is proud of its specialized human cadres and their high readiness to apply the best practices and experiences in the field of forensic evidence, and that Dr. Maryam Al Matrooshi, one of the distinguished female models, which is an important addition to the criminal work of the Dubai Police.
Major General Al Mansouri added that the establishment of the first forensic laboratory reflects the Dubai Police’s keenness to continue achieving achievements, continuous development and proactiveness in police work. and practices, and qualified human competencies capable of solving criminal cases and complex crimes, and providing studies that support criminal work at the global level.
In turn, Dr. Maryam Al Matrooshi said: I am proud of my work in this specialty, which is often overlooked due to the difficulty of the challenges in it, and I am proud of my work in the Dubai Police General Command, which is one of the most important leaders in criminal work at the global level, and has a great balance of expertise and competencies, and has a reputation International status in police work in its various aspects, including criminal work, and the success of women in Dubai Police and their ability to enter and engage in various disciplines comes within the framework of the keenness of Dubai Police leaders, headed by His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to support and empower the female component.
Dr. Al-Matrooshi continued: I obtained a bachelor’s degree in medicine and general surgery from Dubai Medical College, and I am currently working on completing the requirements of the Arab Board, and so far I have completed 14 years in Dubai Police, in the medical and forensic fields, and in the field of fractures and injuries in the country and abroad, and worked in I am the Deputy Head of the Radiology Department at the Dubai Police Health Center, and I am currently working on the project to establish the first criminal radiology department in the Middle East, in addition to being the only doctor in the field of radiology at the level of the General Command in Dubai Police, and I work in the radiological health field and the criminal radiological field in two departments Two different ones, the Department of Forensic Medicine and the Dubai Police Health Center, and today I am proud to be the first woman to enter the field of forensic radiology in the Middle East.
Dr. Maryam Al-Matrooshi discovered malignant tumors, performed excision operations, and saved the lives of ((7) people in just two years. She is also the first to develop a health professional training manual for radiology and approved by the Health Authority for the benefit of (14) technicians annually.
Dr. Maryam Al-Matrooshi also created a health professional training manual for nursing and approved by the Health Authority for the benefit of (60) nurses annually, and developed a health professional training manual for the laboratory and approved by the Health Authority for the benefit of (30) laboratory technicians annually, and developed a vocational training manual It has developed a health professional training manual for the pharmacy and approved by the Health Authority for the benefit of (12) pharmacists annually.
Dr. Maryam Al Matrooshi obtained the Certificate of “Radiological Diagnostics” from Vienna in the European Board of Radiological Diagnostics 2019, as the first female leadership-level employee to obtain this accreditation, and she passed the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the Dubai Health Authority, Rashid Hospital, Dubai Hospital and Latifa Hospital, and was hosted to present the most prominent researches.
