The former minister, Camille Abu Suleiman, responded to an article published by “Akhbar Al-Youm” agency entitled “Who wants the head of Riad Salameh?”, in which it quoted a banking source that “there are many who aspire to come in the place of safety, the most prominent of whom is the former minister Camille Abu Suleiman, for example, but not limited to.” .
And he said, in a statement: “I confirm that, as I have repeatedly announced through the media, I have no ambition, no desire, and I am not ready to be the governor of the Banque du Liban, and I have never touched on this issue with anyone, and if that banking source has any information in this regard, please kindly.” And he reveals it after he discloses his identity, of course.
Abu Suleiman concluded: “If some of them consider that my throwing rumors will make me stop expressing my opinion on feasible solutions, then they are very wrong, especially that we are on the cusp of serious negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and the restructuring of the banking sector. Therefore, I wish those who disagree with me focus on the basis and substance. My stances are with logic and objectivity, instead of being distracted by fabricated news, attacking my personality, and being behind the sources.”
