Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Emirates, the Central Bank announced the hosting of the “Future of the Financial System” conference, as part of the activities accompanying Expo 2020 and in line with its slogan “Contact.” Minds and Creating the Future.” The conference will be held on October 13-14, 2021.
The conference aims to exchange experiences and knowledge about the challenges and opportunities facing the financial sector, as it will shed light on the core issues related to this sector. The conference includes dialogue sessions that discuss several topics, including the impact of digital transformation, the green financial system, ways of cooperation between central banks in relation to digital currencies and payments, and Islamic finance.
The conference will be attended by a group of central bank governors, representatives of government institutions, and leaders of the financial sector from different countries of the world, in addition to a group of heads of financial and technological institutions.
The list of speakers from the UAE includes Khalid Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the Emirates, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, and Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Banks Federation.
