The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and condemnation of the failed coup attempt that took place yesterday, Tuesday, against the legitimate state institutions in Sudan.
The ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with Sudan in everything that supports its security, stability and prosperity, the government and the people, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Yesterday, the Sovereignty Council in Sudan revealed important details of the failed coup attempt, which was led by Major General Abdel-Baqi Al-Hassan Othman (Bakrawi) and with him 22 officers of different ranks, and a number of non-commissioned officers and soldiers.
In turn, the Minister of Defense, Yassin Ibrahim Yassin, confirmed that the investigations and investigations indicated that their aim was to seize power and undermine the current regime for the transitional period.
Yassin said in a press statement on Tuesday that all the participants, whose names were mentioned in the investigations, were arrested, pointing out that the interrogation of this group is being completed to clarify the details.
Sudanese Army (SUNA)
It is noteworthy that the Sudanese army had announced, on Tuesday, that it had thwarted a coup attempt to seize power and rule in the country.
The armed forces said in a statement broadcast on state television that the army had thwarted a coup attempt, and that the security situation was stable.
