The UAE Central Bank said today, Wednesday, that the UAE economy will grow 2.1% this year and 4.2% in 2022 as the Gulf country recovers from the slowdown caused by the Corona virus.
In its quarterly economic review, the Central Bank said that economic activity in the UAE continued to recover in the second quarter of the year, with growth approaching pre-Corona levels.
On the other hand, the Economic Department in the Emirate of Dubai expected the emirate’s economy to grow by 1.3% for the current year and 4.3% for the next year.
The Economic Department attributed its expectations to several factors, the most important of which is hosting the “Expo 2020 Dubai”, which will start from next October, until March 2022.
