Today, Wednesday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates condemned the coup attempt in Sudan yesterday, and affirmed their solidarity with the Sudanese people.
The Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”, said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia “expressed its strong condemnation and condemnation of the failed coup attempt that took place yesterday, Tuesday, against the legitimate state institutions in Sudan.”
The ministry affirmed, “The Kingdom’s solidarity with Sudan in everything that supports its security, stability and prosperity, the government and the people.”
In turn, the UAE expressed its condemnation of the failed coup attempt in Sudan, stressing its commitment to continue supporting the transitional phase in Sudan, in order to achieve the hopes and aspirations of its brotherly people for development and prosperity.
According to the official Emirates News Agency, WAM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed, “The UAE rejects any attempts to obstruct or disrupt the efforts of the Sudanese people to achieve security and stability,” stressing “the UAE’s solidarity and commitment to standing by Sudan in order to preserve its sovereignty and unity.” National.”
And yesterday, Tuesday, the Sudanese authorities announced that a coup attempt had been thwarted. While the Sudanese army arrested 21 officers and a number of soldiers involved in the failed coup attempt.
Later, the Sudanese Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Yassin Ibrahim, announced in a press statement that “the leader of the failed coup attempt is Major General Abdul-Baqi Al-Hassan Othman Bakrawi, in conjunction with 22 other officers of different ranks and a number of non-commissioned officers and soldiers.”
Ibrahim stressed, “The initial investigations and investigations of the coup attempt indicated that the aim of it was to seize power and undermine the current regime for the transitional period,” he said.
