The PA’s news agency, Wafa, reports that the PA and Germany have signed a cooperation agreement under which the Germans will support the PA’s government with 100 million euros for two years, as part of which budgets will also be transferred for Arab development in Area C.
According to the publication, German funding is intended to fund vital projects in the territories of the Authority in Judea and Samaria, including Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, which will focus on “local government and municipalities, basic and higher education, water and sanitation, renewable energy and agriculture, the economic sector and the employment sector.”
Germany’s representative to the PA, Oliver Obache, praised the historic relations between the Arabs and Germany andHe reiterated his country’s support for a two-state solution.
In Israel this morning, Gilad But the director general of the organization “Until Here”, which revealed the plans of the Palestinian Authority and the European Union to take over Area C, reacted sharply to the publication about a “cooperation agreement” between Germany and the PA: “Samaria and allows the PA to de facto occupy the territory as if Israel does not exist. European countries that are supposed to be our allies invest billions of their taxpayers’ money in order to infringe on the sovereignty of the State of Israel.”
“The time has come for the government to stand clearly with the Israeli public and explain what its plans are for the territories of Judea and Samaria and not allow foreign governments to determine facts unilaterally every week.”
The head of the Binyamin Council, Israel Ganz, also commented: “The Israeli governments have abandoned and are abandoning the Arab occupation of Judea and Samaria, which is progressing at an alarming rate. Germany is deep in efforts and it is starting to be too late. .
Knesset leaders Yoav Kish and Orit Struck also responded to the agreement: “Unbelievable, the German government gives NIS 400 million to the Palestinian Authority, while the Israeli government gives more to the Palestinian Authority than the German government. All this while the Palestinian prime minister explicitly declares “That the money will be invested in the takeover of Area C, or in the salaries of terrorists. Bennett and Gantz knowingly give their hand in financing terrorism and in financing the Palestinian takeover of Area C.”
“We call on the Israeli government, and its leader, to wake up and cancel the plan to fund the Palestinian Authority with Israeli taxpayer money, to act against German funding and of course to stop the illegal Palestinian takeover of Area C, as promised by the government in coalition agreements.”
