A 45-year-old hiker wore a T-shirt today (Saturday) in the Western Galilee, after falling from a great height out of the Pigeon Cave during an abseiling activity. The missing persons locating team of the Galil-Carmel rescue unit located its exact location in the area, and a medical team of the unit, which was a member of the MDA team, was sent to the scene.
The hiker received initial medical treatment in the area and was later evacuated from the area using a stretcher outside the cave. An MDA intensive care ambulance evacuated her to a shock room at the Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya.
According to Akram Akawi, a volunteer in the Galil-Carmel rescue unit, “When we arrived at the scene, an MDA team was present and treated the wounded. She was seriously injured because of the high altitude from which she fell. After the treatment on the spot, we rescued her from the area. ”
