Today, Saturday, the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that the Saudi defenses had intercepted 3 booby-trapped marches launched towards the Kingdom.
And the coalition indicated, in a statement, that “the Houthi escalation is hostile and barbaric to target civilians and civilian objects,” stressing that it is following up on the launching of booby-trapped marches and taking strict measures to protect civilians.
Reuters had reported that the Arab coalition had destroyed a drone that was loaded with explosives before it reached its target towards the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. This comes while there was no immediate public comment from the Houthis, but the group has repeatedly announced that it regularly launches drones and missiles targeting Saudi Arabia.
The coalition also announced, last Wednesday, the interception and destruction of a third booby-trapped drone in Yemeni airspace, while the Saudi “Al-Ekhbariya Channel” said, “The Arab coalition, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced the interception and destruction of a Houthi march in Yemeni airspace,” noting “a hostile escalation.” Houthi militias are trying to target Yemenis.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition of Arab and Islamic countries, in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, in its quest to restore the capital, Sanaa, and large areas in Yemen, which were seized by the Ansar Allah group in late 2014.
On the other hand, “Ansar Allah” group carries out attacks with drones, ballistic missiles, and booby-trapped boats, targeting Saudi and Yemeni forces inside Yemen and inside the Kingdom.
