The Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef held a session of official talks with the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Iraq, Lieutenant-General Othman Ali Al-Ghanimi, at the Ministry of Interior in the capital, Baghdad.
At the beginning of the session, the Iraqi Minister of Interior welcomed Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud and his accompanying delegation to the Republic of Iraq, pointing out that this visit comes as a confirmation of the keenness of the Interior Ministries of the two brotherly countries to enhance the level of security coordination to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the leaderships of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Iraq.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Prince Muhammad bin Salman and their aspirations to achieve everything that contributes to preserving and strengthening the security of the two brotherly countries.
He stressed that, thanks to God, and then thanks to the directives of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries, broad prospects for coordination between the two countries were opened, one of the fruits of which was the establishment of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, which works to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two sides in all fields, and the opening of a new port of Arar, which effectively contributed to raising the level of trade exchange. .
He drew attention to the challenges surrounding our Arab security and regional and global changes that require integration of cooperation and coordination between the security services of the two brotherly countries, stressing that this is a strategic goal to maintain regional and international security and peace.
During the session, they discussed ways to enhance and develop joint cooperation between the two countries’ ministries of interior.
After the talks session, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the Iraqi Parliament.
He also met the National Security Adviser of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, at the National Security Advisory.
During the two meetings, they discussed a number of issues related to strengthening the paths of security cooperation between the two countries.
The talks and two meetings were attended by the official delegation accompanying the Minister of Interior.
