The families of the victims of the August 4 explosion carried out a symbolic sit-in, among the monthly vigils they carry out at the entrance to the port of Beirut, calling for “truth and justice” for their children, raising pictures of the victims.

Ibrahim Hoteit spoke on behalf of the protesters, stressing that “the families of the martyrs rejected any physical and moral exposure to them by the security forces,” stressing that “they are not against anyone personally and they have no problem with anyone, rather their only problem is with anyone who is summoned by the judiciary to investigate a case.” The killing of their children,” declaring that “the families of the victims will continue to escalate them, and they will have sudden and painful steps and moves.”

He called for “not to take the families of the victims to another place they do not want,” stressing the need to “remove the issue of the Beirut port bombing from politics and politicization.”

He said: “Our cause is an issue of blood, pain and truth, and we do not want more than that, and you are the ones who forced us to take to the streets when you killed our sons and daughters-in-law,” stressing, “We do not have a political agenda and we refuse to implement such an agenda.”
