Today, Saturday, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the deportation of about 10,000 expatriates and the arrest of more than 16,000 others for violating the residency and work system.
The ministry said that the security campaigns to apprehend violators of the residency, work and border security regulations, which took place in all regions of the Kingdom, from 26/8/2021 AD to 9/1/2021 AD, resulted in the arrest of 16,638 violators.
The ministry added in a statement that among the arrested were 5,800 violators of the residency system, 9,383 violators of the border security system, and 1,455 violators of the labor system, in various regions.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that a total of 849 people were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom, 55% of whom were Yemenis, 43% were Ethiopians, and 2% were other nationalities. 19 people were arrested; for trying to cross the border out of the kingdom.
Also, 11 people involved in transporting, harboring and operating violators of the residency, work and border security regulations were arrested and covered up.
The Saudi Ministry stated that 63,491 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 3,382 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations, and 9,929 violators were deported.
The ministry warned citizens and residents against punishing anyone who facilitates the entry of the intruder into the Kingdom, transfers him within it, provides him with shelter, or provides him with any assistance or service in any way, with penalties of up to 15 years in prison, and a fine of up to one million riyals.
