The official spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Egypt, Khaled Megahed, denied what was reported about the high occupancy rates in hospitals to 80% due to the fourth wave of the Corona virus, stressing that occupancy rates did not even reach 25%.
Mujahid added, in press statements, that Egypt is witnessing a slight increase in infection rates in the fourth wave, as well as a decrease in death rates in Corona, compared to many countries of the world, and 3% less than the deaths in Egypt previously.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population explained that, in addition to the chest and fever hospitals, only 10 isolation hospitals are used nationwide, adding, “Egypt is still far from the occupancy rates that were said, which is 80%.”
Mujahid stressed the need to receive vaccinations, as this reduces the severity of infection with the Corona virus, or admission to hospitals, stressing the importance of adhering to precautionary measures.
