The director of the Russian “Gamalia” Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Ginsburg, confirmed that the “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Corona virus is safe for reproductive function, while the virus has a negative effect on it.

“In terms of reproductive safety, there have been large studies done, not only our studies, but primarily those conducted by the Kulakov VI Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology, which clearly confirmed that the vaccine is safe,” he said.

He added: “Whoever hopes to be safe by contracting the disease does so very badly, because Covid infection has a very big impact on sperm formation and motility, which affects fertilization and pregnancy.”

The Russian scientist advised those who are considering having children to receive the vaccine.

For her part, a specialist in the Russian Ministry of Health for Reproductive Health of Women, Natalia Dolgoshina, indicated that “the possibility of pregnancy, including with the help of in vitro fertilization, decreases in women of late childbearing age who have contracted corona.”
